This mark on the inner forearm of the praying mantis, is indicative of the European species. Sometimes I get very focused on the little details. I like the raised white bumps.

My macrophotography. Lots of bugs -- flowers, water and other things if I can't find fauna. (Click on a photo to enlarge, click again for an even greater enlargement.)

Thanks for the great info and another great picture!
Superb details! And the info is really new. Keep them coming! So close were you, with the mantis?
regzgz & Kousik: Thanks! I put off posting this one. I knew I liked it, but I wasn't sure how it would go over. Glad to know I'm not the only one who found it good.
My macro lens is short, so I'm generally about 6in (15cm) from the subject. This is prolly why the yellow jackets get so angry. ;)
