Long Jaw Portrait
I think I have some splinters in my face from taking this one. I love how soft and translucent this spider appears. 1/480s, f/6.3, focal length 57mm, ISO 160.
My macrophotography. Lots of bugs -- flowers, water and other things if I can't find fauna. (Click on a photo to enlarge, click again for an even greater enlargement.)

The lighting in this image is excellent. The side light creates a gradient and shadow that highlights the spider and wooden surface.
Thanks!
My camera has no flash -- well it does, but it's a dinky thing fixed directly above the lens and no hot seat for a real flash. Evil thing, red-eye zombie maker! Hate it!
Oh, I think I'm digressing, so back to what I was going to say: almost all my lighting is completely natural. I really enjoy morning sun because it brings out a glow in subjects. Most times of day this little spider looks very plain, a light, undistinguished tan. In the morning sun, it channels warm sunlight through its translucent body.
Anyway, good job sun!
