It's a fly, but when you're just passing without paying much attention, you'd swear it was a bumble bee. This fly is huge by the way. It was about as long and big as the tip of my thumb to the first knuckle.
I'm a mom of three incredible children. I also do quilting, photography, math geek stuff, computer wrangling, origami, and entomology-arachnology geek stuff.

Hahahaha! This is in the foothills of Colorado. We have glaciers here! We also have tarantulas and tiger beetles.
Heck, I've heard horror stories about the mosquitos of Alaska.
I don't mind flies this size, they're just trying to scare the birds away. It's the smaller biting ones that piss me off.
